What to do if you are fully vaccinated and are exposed to COVID:
Exposure is defined as: spending more than 15 minutes with a positive person at a distance of less than 6 feet without face coverings.
- You can continue in your daily routines if you have no symptoms and should wear a mask (due to confirmation that fully vaccinated individuals are spreading covid). You should test for COVID 3-5 days from the exposure.
- If the test is positive - you must stay home for 10 days from positive test date or onset of symptoms date.
- If the test is negative - you can continue in your daily routines without a mask.
- If you decide not to test for COVID, you should continue wearing a mask for 14 days from the last contact with the positive person.
-
What to do if you are fully vaccinated and symptomatic:
- You must stay home and seek testing (due to breakthrough COVID).
- If you choose not to test you must isolate for 10 days from the onset of symptoms.
- If you test positive - you will need to stay home for 10 days from the onset of symptoms.
- If you test negative you can return to work when you feel well enough to return.
Rapid tests are available for staff. See our COVID Testing page for more information.

What to do if you are NOT fully vaccinated and someone in your household is positive for COVID:
- You need to separate yourself from the positive household member and quarantine for the next 14 days.
- If you cannot separate yourself call your building nurse to discuss quarantine period.
- You should test between days 5-7
- If positive - you will be out 10 days from onset of symptoms or test date (you will need to be isolated from other family members during this time).
- If your test result comes back negative you are still in quarantine for 14 days (same as fist bullet point above).
-
What to do if you have COVID and are NOT vaccinated:
- You must stay home for at least 10 days or more depending upon how you feel. If you still have symptoms after 10 days, you should remain at home.
- Anyone who lives with you and is not vaccinated will need to separate as much as they can from the positive person (you) and quarantine for 14 days from the day they separated from the positive person.
- If anyone in the family is fully vaccinated they can return to normal activities but should wear a mask and test for COVID at 3-5 days. If their test is negative they can continue with normal activities without a mask. If positive, they need to be in isolation for 10 days from onset of symptoms or positive date.
- If anyone in the family is fully vaccinated and decides not to test at 3-5 days, they should wear a mask for 14 days.If they develop any COVID symptoms, they must stay home for 10 days from onset of symptoms or get tested for covid when symptoms start.
