Mental Health Resources
Stable Embrace: The site includes compiled ideas and extensive resources to help residents care for their physical and mental health needs, stay connected with others, and build community. This site also includes access to local and regional mental health services.
First Call 211: Assisting people who are feeling suicidal, having difficulty with medications, experiencing behavioral problems, contemplating psychiatric hospitalization, or experiencing other emotional problems. Calls from friends and family members of these people are also common. Free, confidential, and non-judgmental crisis intervention, active listening, and information and referral services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call 2-1-1.
Crisis Text Line: Crisis Text Line is here for any crisis. A live, trained Crisis Counselor receives the text and responds, all from our secure online platform. Text "MN" to 741741
ISD #318 Student Support Staff: School-based mental health supports and resources available for students and families. Please contact your child's school to be connected with your student support staff.
Food Support Resources
ISD #318 Food Service: Meals are available AT NO CHARGE to children 18 years of age.
Second Harvest Food Bank: Open Monday-Thursday 11:00 am – 3:30 pm and CLOSED ON FRIDAY.
Northern Itasca Food Shelf: Thursday 12:30-3:00. Behind Over 50 Club, Main St. Bigfork, MN 56628, 218.259.5884
Community Cafe: There is no income or other financial qualifications for a free meal. Each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, a nutritious three-course meal is available for take out. Located at the Kiesler Wellness Center at 1313 NE 7th street Grand Rapids (behind Walmart).
Ruby's Pantry: 3rd Tuesday of the Month. Registration begins at 3:30 PM. Food bundles available 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm. Hosted by Cohasset Community Center located at 305 1st Ave NW, Cohasset, MN.
ISD #318 School Pantry: Food and non-food items (hygiene, launder, etc.) available for families. Please contact your child's school to be connected with your student support staff.
Housing Support Resources
First Call 211: Free, confidential and nonjudgmental crisis intervention, active listening, and information and referral services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Resources and supports for locating shelters, affordable housing, eviction assistance, and/or moving costs assistance.
Kootasca: Programming available to support homeowners and renters. Is staffed to take calls and help you over the phone Monday-Friday, 8-4:30. Call 218-999-0800 or 877-687-1163.
Grace House: Is open by phone and email and will continue to fulfill its mission of assisting people who are experiencing homelessness and those in need of support to prevent them from becoming homeless. Assistance and support will be done in alternative ways.
