Welcome to the ISD 318 Transportation Department
News from the Transportation Department…
This summer we made a major update to our outdated bus routing software, which means a new bus tracking app for you, easier communication with families, and a faster, more efficient way to route students on buses for staff.
The app is called My Ride K-12. My Ride K-12 will provide you with your student’s busing information, including their pick-up and drop-off times and bus stop location. It allows users to track the school bus before heading to the bus stop in the morning or when coming home at the end of the day. It also allows us to notify families if buses are running late.
The new app will be the primary method of communication regarding transportation. We will not be mailing paper letters out any longer. Details on how to install and log in to the My Ride K-12 app will be emailed directly to district families on Friday, August 16th.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Our primary goal is the safe transportation of students to and from school.
District 318 transportation is available to district students and includes transportation for:
- Grand Rapids Tech Hub - ISD 318 Educational Services Center
- RJEMS afterschool activities
- GRHS/Reif afterschool activities
- YMCA Educare Program (before and after school)
- Public Library Afterschool
- St Joseph's School Age Care (SAC) Afterschool Program
The Transportation Department is committed to student safety. It is also important that parents assume a scope of responsibility at the bus stop, including getting children to and from bus stops.
**NEW for 24-25 School Year** - ALL families needing district transportation will need to submit a new busing request form online. NO previous busing information will be carried forward.
All students may now have just ONE pick-up and ONE drop-off location. This has changed from having multiple options in the past. Busing requests must be completed online using the district website.
Please have your busing request filled out prior to July 5th, 2024 in order to ensure your request is processed for Fall transportation. Requests received after this date will be processed, but busing cannot be guaranteed to be ready for the start of school. The Transportation department intends to have busing routes and time information out to families by August 16th.
