• Emergency or Weather-Related Closings

Emergency closings due to weather are considered paid workdays for most staff including those who are not required to report to their normal location. Staff paid on weather-related closing days are expected to use this day as professional development/work from home if they are not able or required to report to their location. Staff are asked to be mindful of the fact that it is a workday.
When school is canceled, absences on the system at the time the closing is announced will remain as recorded absences for paid workday staff.

The absence will be canceled by the district office upon notification that the employee could not attend the appointment necessitating a scheduled absence, and so was available to work from home that day. For example, if a doctor appointment or meeting was canceled due to the weather.

The same policy applies to a late start or early release due to weather or emergency.
