Are masks required?
We strongly recommend that everyone wear a mask regardless of their vaccination status. If we start to see an increase in the number of cases we will implement a mask requirement at the classroom, grade, or school level. In most cases, the requirement will be implemented on a short-term basis. For more information, please visit our mitigation threshold page.
We want to make sure that we use the data from our classrooms and school to inform what we are doing in our classrooms and schools. We will start with masking changes on short-term requirements but will need to increase the length of those requirements if the spread is not contained.
Masks are required on the school bus.

Will you notify families of close contacts?
We will track close contacts with known positives and will inform families with elementary students when they occur. Families will receive a message using our Blackboard notification system, so please make sure your phone number and email address are up to date.

What if my child has allergies that look like COVID symptoms?
If your child is sick, they should stay home. If the symptoms appear to be COVID-19 they should obtain a negative test before returning to school. If your child has allergies, please contact your health care professional and building nurse for additional information.
-
Will you be administering COVID-19 tests at the school?
If a student is showing symptoms at school, we can offer a COVID-19 rapid test with parent permission. If a test is negative, the student would be able to return to class within 30 minutes provided they are fever-free and the symptoms are not disruptive.
The school district has a limited supply of at-home COVID-19 tests upon request from the office in your child's school.
-
If my child tests positive for COVID-19, how long should they stay home?
Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 should isolate themselves for 10 days. Your child may be able to return after 5 days wearing a mask. Contact your building nurse for the appropriate isolation/masking dates.
-
Are you requiring vaccination of staff or students?
No, having a COVID vaccination is a personal choice. We respect that. However, we know that vaccinations reduce COVID effects and recommend that people talk with their doctor about getting the vaccine.
-
Can you tell me if a staff member is vaccinated?
No, the vaccination status of our employees is not public data.
-
How do I know how many cases are in the schools?
We will continue to update our COVID-19 dashboard with case data.
