• Students who are interested in the healthcare profession have the opportunity to take the following healthcare career pathway courses that are prerequisites for many post-secondary healthcare programs and are preparatory courses for a future career in the healthcare industry. College in the Schools (CIS) credit will be offered to students who meet the CIS criteria.

    Healthcare Employment Outlook
    According to the Wilder Report put out in 2016 by the Blandin Foundation our Itasca County area is expected to have some tremendous growth in the healthcare field. Below are some statistics and projections for the occupation:

    • 20% of all jobs in Itasca County are in the Healthcare Field. This makes it the largest industry in the area.
    • There has been a 51% growth in healthcare occupations and a 25% growth in healthcare establishments since 2000.
    • In Itasca County, 4,890 new healthcare jobs will be available between 2012-2022.
    • The top 4 occupations for growth in adding jobs in Itasca County were Personal Care Attendants (PCAs), Home Health Aides (HHAs), Registered Nurses (RNs), and Nursing Assistants (NAs)
