• The Grand Rapids Area Learning Center provides alternative educational programming for students that are at risk of not graduating from high school. Services are provided to students from several school districts including Greenway, Nashwauk-Keewatin, Remer, Deer River, Hill City, and Bigfork. In addition to our Independent Study Program, we offer Night School, Summer School, and provide educational services for the Teen Age Pregnancy Program (TAPP).

  • College in the Schools Can Help Families Save Money

    At GRHS, students have many ways of earning college credits while completing the credits necessary for graduation. One of those programs is College in the Schools (CITS). The CITS Program lets students earn college credit while staying on campus.

  • 318 Board Plans to Reduce Levy Impact

    At a School Board workshop on November 8, the ISD 318 School Board discussed options for reducing the levy and the tax impact on ISD 318 residents. “After reviewing the debt structures and the rest of our levy, the board felt that reducing the levy from the preliminary amounts made the most sense for the district and its constituents at this time,” said ISD 318 Superintendent Matt Grose.

  • ISD 318 Names GRHS Field for Legendary Coach

    On Monday, October 25, the ISD 318 School Board approved naming the GRHS practice football/lacrosse field based on the recommendation of a naming committee that had been assembled. The field will be known as the Tom Drazenovich Field. Tommy D was known for his impact on and off the field.

  • 318 School Board Reviews Student Achievements

    Despite the challenges to learning in the pandemic, ISD 318 students still made gains in their academic assessments. “While the MCAs are just a snapshot of our students’ learning, we’re excited that our students scored among the top in the region,” said Superintendent Matt Grose. “The MCAs are what we use to measure how well our students understand the Department of Education’s Academic Standards.”
