School Sculptures with Kevin Reese

Completed Reese mobile
During the 2015-2016 school year, nationally renowned sculptor and educator Kevin Reese will be visiting IASC Schools for the "Mobilizing the Arts" residency.

With support from the Reif Center, Reese will visit area schools to learn about mobile creation. Students will create their own miniature mobiles called maquettes that will serve as an inspiration for a large scale mobile to be installed in the lobby of the newly renovated Reif Center.

The large scale mobile will be created by the students themselves in February and March 2016. The project will help students develop skills in art, math, physics, teamwork, creativity, and critical-thinking.

Examples of Reese's work with other schools is available at schoolsculptures.com. Teachers can learn more about participating at the Mobilizing the Arts Info Session.
