Early Childhood Special Education
Welcome to Early Childhood Special Education
Infants, toddlers, and preschoolers are very special people. During the first years of life, young children are learning and growing faster than at any other time in their lives, and they each develop in their own unique way.
Sometimes, however, a child may not seem to grow, move, play, act, or talk in the ways that most others of the same age do. Extra help may be needed to help him or her grow and learn with more success. ISD 318 Early Childhood Special Education offers these services at no cost to children and their families. Depending on the needs of the particular child, these services could include:
- Information and referral
- Screening
- Evaluation
- Home visits
- Speech and language therapy
- Special education classes and related services
- Physical therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Psychological services
- Vision and audiology services and more
