Guest Staff (Substitute) Opportunities

We rely on guest staff to help serve our students. Guest staff are needed in all positions to ensure our students have a safe and productive school experience.

In all substitute roles, individuals applying must enjoy the presence of children, be reliable, and pass a criminal background check.

All positions are on-call, as-needed. They are flexible for both the substitute and the district. You can choose which buildings/positions you would like to accept and decline those that do not interest you.

Teachers

Qualifications: Valid Minnesota Teaching License.

Applicants can apply to be a substitute teacher while they are waiting on their license.
Typically a bachelor’s degree is required for a substitute teaching license. In place of a bachelor's degree, a candidate may qualify with evidence of five years of work experience, an associate’s degree, or professional certification from an approved certifying organization that is directly aligned to a Career and Technical (CTE) or Career Pathways licensure field. Pay Rate: $150 per day (7.5 hours), $165 per day for teachers retired through TRA, long-term rates available beginning at 11 consecutive days substituting for one teacher.

Paraprofessionals (ESPs)

Qualifications: Associates Degree, 60+ post-secondary college credits, or a passing score on the ParaPro Exam.

Bus Drivers

Guest drivers are needed in both Bigfork and Grand Rapids. Click here to apply to the posting (Job 2719) .

Qualifications: Department of Transportation Physical, Drug Testing, Commercial Drivers License, and Passenger Endorsement.

Training is provided to obtain the necessary license and endorsement.

Pay Rate: $24.50 per hour.
