• At ISD 318, our goal is to create a district climate that promotes cooperation, family and community involvment, and professional learning that is open to new ideas. We are committed to facilitating a two-way dialogue between the community and the school district, therefore public input is important to help guide planning and decision-making.

To gain public input, the district uses a tool called ThoughtExchange (TE). ThoughtExchange is not a survey, but rather an online conversation that operates as a way to crowdsource ideas. Participation is about not only sharing your thoughts in response to an open-ended question but also about reviewing and rating the thoughts of other community members.

ThoughtExchange operates like a three-step process in the span of a condensed period:
SHARE - First, share a thought or idea in answer to the open-ended questions posed
STAR - Review the thoughts of others and star thoughts you like
DISCOVER - See the results of the exchange, including which thoughts were rated highest by your peers, and see themes that emerged.

In order to close our feedback loop, we make our TE reports available to the community. You can access those reports using the links at left.
