MN Academic Standards

Since the state has moved toward the implementation of new Minnesota Academic Standards, the way in which your child is assessed is beginning to change.

Elementary students in grades 3, 4, and 5 are given state prepared benchmark tests in reading and math.  These tests, called Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments, do not count toward graduation. This is a statewide expectation that all students participate in the MCA assessments. These assessments will help District #318 make sure your child is on track for the more rigorous academic standards she/he will encounter at the secondary level.
