Independent School District 318 is located in Itasca County, Minnesota and is the largest provider of public education in the county. We are a very unique learning community encompassing over 2000 square miles. Our district provides educational opportunities for approximately 4000 students at 14 learning sites.

HIGHLIGHTING FOREST LAKE ELEMENTARY

Forest Lake Elementary School along with ProjectREAD and MN Reading Corps hosted a FRED Event. FRED stands for Fathers Reading Every Day. Dads, Grandpas, and Uncles came to school with their children for an evening of pizza, storytelling and spending time together. Each child took home two books! "Paul Bunyan," also known as Ed Nelson, was here to tell a TALL Tale, and Chippy the Mascot greeted each child. Chad Haavedt read to children in the gym. Grand Itasca Clinic provided Pizza Works pizza! Thank you to the 78 Dads and 97 kiddos that came and made FRED a super event!
