Grand Rapids Area Learning Center

 

The Grand Rapids Area Learning Center (GRALC) is an alternative program for at-risk students to earn credits to receive their high school diploma. The GRALC is an independent study program which requires students to be self motivated and have regular weekly attendance. Credit is achieved by earning "hours" through homework and attendance. In order to register, students must fit the state criteria and have either have been out of school 16 consecutive days or get a referral from their current high school.

How is credit earned?

  • 1/2 credit is achieved by earning 70 hours of credit (2 hours of class time per week + 10 hours of homework

ALC expectations of students:

  • Required weekly attendance.

  • Best effort.

  • Follow the Grand Rapids Area Learning Centers rules based on our handbook.
